Marketing For The Work At Home Experiment

Just a couple of things to update on today.  Nothing extraordinary, but very useful.

I mentioned in previous posts that I had finally signed up with Facebook.  I have been going through setting that up and adding a few "friends" and what-not, trying to get that marketing fire going.  I'm sure it will take awhile, so better to start now than later.

Checked my in-text advertising service, Infolinks, and already have about $0.24 in my account !  So I know it is being registered and started.  And again, I have to say, it is soooo very cool that they pay through PayPal !  I wish Google AdSense would do the same thing as an option, at least !

Speaking of Google AdSense, I looked around for a place to communicate with Google on that issue of the spike in impressions and CTR (click through rate).  I wanted to make sure I contacted them because, since I am just getting started with this journey, I don't want to be shut down before I get to first base.  That would REALLY suck.  I did and sent them a message with the date and states and my concerns.  I also heard other

Work At Home Experiment Took Another Couple of Steps !

I didn't bother blogging yesterday since I was doing research and more nuts and bolts activities to the physical blog itself.  Also still exploring one of the sites I joined and have posted about.

But there two BIG pieces of news to tell you today !  One might not be super exciting to you, but it is to me because I have never done this before.  I opened a FACEBOOK account !  I have dealt with Myspace before, under duress I might add.  But I used it for a business which at this time will remain unmentioned.  And it was fairly successful as well.  I am hoping that I can use my Facebook as successfully this time.  I haven't done much with the profile yet though.  Just added one friend, because they have introduced me to several of their friends off line, and I think I can build quite a community with that contact.  They are all very nice people and avid web users.  Anyway, it really is a big step for me, and I hope it works out.

The other step I took is joining the Infolinks system.  Infolinks is an  in-text advertising system.  It seems pretty cool too !  As you read my posts you will see words that are a different color other than my standard white type.  Right now, that color is green.  I can make changes to the color, and choose double lines or dotted lines for the highlighted in-text advertising words.  You also choose the category of advertising and maximum amount of words you would like to become in-text advertising.

Setting up with Infolinks was a complete breeze !  After you sign up, they take you to a page that gives you the code you need to input into your website or blog.  You just copy it and paste it just before the "" tag in the html portion of your website or blog.

It took about a day for their system to start turning certain keywords into clickable links.  However, one of

Mentioning PayPerPost.com and a service called Infolinks.com on The Work At Home Experiment

I think things are starting to get pretty exciting around here, if not profitable yet. I am learning a lot REALLY fast and running into things to create revenue in my blog that I had never even thought of !

I just found a service called PayPerPost.com that apparently hooks you up to advertisers that pay per post of your blog. They can pay per post or "pay per word" and do it in an auction type fashion. You let them know how much you want to get paid, choose your post or blog category, and they match you up. It is still a little bit confusing to me, but when I learn more about it I will post another blog about it here.

The other service, one that I am REALLY excited to find out about is called Infolinks.com. If you have a website or blog, you can input an easy code and it will turn several of the words you have in your blog or website into links that people can click on and you get payed when you reach a certain monetary level. I don't

Another Cool Site That Makes Money, But I'm Doing It Just For Fun

First off, I have to say that I am having a couple of computer problems. My A/C chord is all jacked up and it is really hard to keep my battery charged. And right now I can't afford to buy a new one, which costs about $30 or so. So it IS kinda difficult to do these posts and everything else all at once. If you can donate to this blog just a little so I can at least get a new chord, I'd really appreciate it. You can do that via the PayPal link with a credit card or your own PayPal account. Thank you so much if you do !

Otherwise, I was looking around other places to start posting the link to this blog to start trying to push the traffic to it. And of course, the more traffic you get, the more you have people clicking on links, and the more money you make with the Google AdSense program.

I decided to use Google, of course, to start searching. The search term I typed into Google was "work at home". Brought up all kinds of sites and I started exploring to see where I could post my site, or join sites and

EyeEarn Affiliate Program on The Work at Home Experiment

Back again and ready to write another post for today. And this about a certain affiliate program, or at least that is what they seem to refer to themselves as. Not only am I documenting everything that I am doing in this work at home, experimental venture, I also want to review and notify you of whatever affiliate programs I come across. And just be plain honest about my feelings on things.

I just recently tried to post another ad on Craigslist, but Craigslist wouldn't let me. The ads were too similar. Just wanted to let you know that small amount of info. But while I was posting there the first time, I was looking at some of the other ads in the small business ads section that I was posting in.

I happened across this one program that seems rather interesting. I have NOT signed up with it since this work at home experiment utilizing PayPal, LinkShare, and Google ads, is not about spending money. It is

First Craigslist Ad Added To Promote My Work At Home Experiment

The first post of the day. And say "of the day" because I plan on posting at least a couple of more times today. Had a late night last night perusing Google and adding the Craigslist ad I posted about last time. Found out a few interesting things I think.

First of all, be careful what time you go to post on Craigslist. I posted my ad late Sunday evening. And I posted it in the "small business ads" area of their "services" area. At first glance, i didn't think it would get much traffic in that area. But when I got up this morning, I found quite a few other types of business opportunities listed. Most seem to be in the brick-n-mortar area, either selling a shop or other type of regular business. And still a few of the work at home online type of businesses that I would either consider to be scams, or just people like us trying to find an opportunity that works for them. One of them caught my eye, which I will talk about in a moment.

I posted my ad for this blog TryToWorkAtHome.blogspot.com and it shows up as the fourth ad. Keep in mind, this was late Sunday evening, or early Saturday morning. So it shows up as fourth from the bottom of January 11th. Now there are a bunch of other posts that came in later on top of mine. So I am wondering if

More Affiliates And Starting To Market The Work At Home Experiment

Took a couple of days off since I was really just trying to get caught up and let you all know what I had done so far. Took quite a while for me put it all down in several posts. Now I think I should be at a point where I can do each step and then blog about it without it taking up too much time. All the internet work at home gurus are always talking about how you only have to work for a couple of hours a day and make all kinds of money. I happen to think that you get what you put into it. And getting things started will probably take a lot of work. But it will be nice when loads of people are coming to my blog and clicking my links and generating income.

So...let's get back to it !

I have been doing some research in the off time about other affiliates that I might be able to work with. One of my personal quirks about any of them will be if they pay their commissions via PayPal. There are quite a few that do, and others that don't. And if you do your own research, you will find that looking for an affiliate company that allows lower pages views or unique visitors are kinda of hard to find. You will be in the same position I am when you are just starting out. That is why you will have to take the time to promote your site as
